The UL 94 classification is the most widely used for the certification of the fire performance of plastics. This test measures the time it takes for the flame to extinguish in a test tube placed vertically after the burner has been removed.
The classifications are as follows
V0 CLASSIFICATION: Fire extinguishes in 10 seconds without dripping
CLASSIFICATION V1: The fire is extinguished in 30 seconds without dripping.
CLASSIFICATION V2: Fire extinguished in 30 seconds with dripping
The test shown in the video is a UL 94 V0 polyethylene. The highest rating to ensure zero fire spread.
